Joyce Schneider loves to cook and write. Wonderful for dieting, staying healthy, and boosting the ego

This diet/cookbook is terrific. I've lost 10 pounds without cravings! That may not sound like a lot, but believe me, it is. The health/nutrition updates in the first 50 pages have helped me realize what I'd been doing wrong. Can't think of any other diet book that gave such great advice, and in such a warm, helpful way. This book's a real ego booster when I'm feeling down or stressed about my weight.

And, since I love chocolate, the book's recommended unsweetened cocoa recipes (no-sugar no-fat fudge sauce!) have helped me fight off hunger. Cocoa is also the highest in antioxidants, something else I hadn't known, so I consider it and the recent studies revealed in this book as a lifesaver. The recipes are also amazingly inventive, using new, better-for-you food products.

I've done about a zillion diets, but I've only gained weight and nearly went nuts from the cravings. No more of that with The Cardiologist's Wife's book. I can't recommend it enough.

I think the book was poorly written. I think an editor would have been nice - LOTS of typos in the recipes. We tried several of the dessert recipes (cheesecake and apple crisp) and threw them away. They were awful!!! Although the ideas in the book are good, the recipes are not and too much Splenda is used. Some of the recipes could do without the Splenda and still taste good.

Upon receipt of the books, I scanned one of the books and it was B-A-D. I quickly sent the other book back and had wished that I sent both back. All they had to say on one line of their rambling text was, sugar free cocoa and splenda...end of story,

Excellent book - good strategies and practice tests

If you are seeking a single book for SAT preparation this may be it. 4 good practice tests, though they could be more accurate.

This is one of the best SAT preparation books out there. Other comparable books include Princeton Review's Cracking the SAT, 2007 Edition and McGraw-Hills SAT I, Second edition.

The main strength of this book is that the material is presented in an easy to understand format. We also liked the repetitive review provided by the book. Some sections, however, were a bit deficient in the strategies and content provided.

Finally, the main difference between the Comprehensive and the Premier Programs is that the Premier Program comes with a CD that contains 5 tests and provides access to monthly additions and mobile software.

Family LOVES the sweet truth recipes I've made

I have been working hard to get my family to eat healthy(not an easy job).But I have to say all the recipes I've tried with Kelly's book they have LOVED.Not only are they healthy for us they taste great too.So all I can say is keep it up Kelly!

Great ideas!

I really like the content of this book. The printing is a little amateurish. I have not tried any of the recipes, but they look great. I don't have much time to experiment with little ones running around, but I do think that I'll be using this book for reference for years to come.

It sounded like a good idea

The author provides a list of "must have" ingredients to always have on hand - but most all of the recipes call for items that are not on the list and these items are not run-of-the-mill grocery store stock. Many of the recipes seem to be quite involved. For example, the chocolate chip cookie recipes not only involve mixing the dough - but also require freezing the cookies on the cookie sheets for 30 minutes before baking. I don't know about you, but I don't have that much freezer space. When the author tells me to pull out my dehydrater to prepare fruit for her recipes, I put the book aside. I am not a professional cook. I need good recipes that don't consume a lot of time to make and that are practical. These recipes may produce great food, if you have hours to devote to the process. The book is expensive compared to others, so unless you have a lot of time and close proximity to a natural foods market, I would not invest in it.

Fabulous Book

I have read a lot of information on the topic of nutrition and didn't expect this book to be so valuable. It is thoroughly researched, well-written and chock full of delicious recipes. As a busy working professional I appreciate the variety of easy to prepare meals that are nutritious and tasty. Unlike other books on weight management where calorie restriction = boring meals and few choices, you won't feel deprived. Every recipe has a nutrition analysis so that if you're counting calories, carbs, sugar or fat, this is the book for you. Kudos to the author. She has raised the standard.

Penetrating insight into the Winter War

Excellent story set against the turmoil of war, the comparatively little known conflict between Finland and Soviet Russia in 1939. Frederick Brogger has done research in depth to get a real feeling for the oustanding bravery of the Finns in their struggle to withstand the predator Russians. Against this background he tells a heartfelt story of romance as a young American is caught up in events which test him to the ultimate. Enthralling story, highly recommended.

Great Blend of Fact and Fiction

Journey into Winter provide insight into a part of hisotry with wich I was not familiar. The blend of the story line around the facts of the war mad for very interesting reading. The autor had an ability to write in a way that I could actually visualize Finaland in the winter--bitter cold weather, forzen lakes, and deep snows. Excellent reading.

Journey Into Winter

This book reminded me of my youth when, in the l940's, I watched a movie called, The SKI PATROL", the story of brave Fins using their winter whites to ski and fight in the mountains against the dark suited Russian soldiers. I will never forget how the Finish rifleman fought on skis and defeated hoards of Russian soldiers. This book also adds romantic images to accompany the military and political scenes and times. A wonderful read. I highly recommend it.
