The new millennium is here folks, and it's not going well. Seems the world can't stop warring over their petty self-righteous dispositions for intolerance. Well it's high time to put an end to this madness. Can religion and science, with their elegant secrets of Zen-time and modern revelations of quantum physics keep them from destroying the world in time? Or will golf and rock 'n roll?
In FAR WAY TO EVEN, Boleyn refuses to sit quietly in the waiting room. He much prefers to play, crashing through the door and taking your chair, along with your cigars, and having a jolly good time doing it. Crafting all the shades of satire available at his disposal, the journey of a mud-stained guitar and his shifty golf club pal on their unlikely way to play the world stage with their heroes turns into a tour de force commentary on what plagues modern humanity. Much to our surprise, the probability of a cure existing within quantum fields of Zen guitars golfing along fairways to heaven provides a vast playing field for Boleyn's outrageous predilection for literary mischief.

Not your Daddy's golf book. In the vein of Douglas Adams and Tom Robbins, author J.R. Boleyn is a spiritual renegade where nothing is sacred and no one is spared. Through brilliant metaphor and satire, Boleyn deftly picks chastity's lock on the gates to Augusta National, championing the rights of women to compete in the equality based universe of the greatest game ever played.
From the Author
I've pretty much packed it up and headed for the hills after this one, golf bag and guitar in tow. I like Montana. Time stands still there and it seldom rains. What I really get a kick out of these days are all the 20 and 30 something year old's living every day depressed with suicidal tendencies because they're caught up in the myth of the suffering artist. Chasing the muse of illusion is fine with me, as long as I can still hit a fairway while searching for a lost chord. Besides, who in their right mind wants the Paparazzi pilfering their garbage at four in the morning and slapping your mug all over the tabloids. I just say 'look kid, be happy if you wake up every morning. It's very underrated. The whole quest for fame thing is like firing off a loose cannon. It steals the moment and you're never satisfied.' What's that? ...Oh, sorry... I thought I was supposed to talk about the book. Right... well, it's all about the work then, isn't it.
About the Author
J.R. Boleyn is the pen name of American author, singer/songwriter, recording artist, producer, and B.M.I. music composer, Jesse Boleyn. Jesse was born the oldest of five siblings into a military family in 1951 at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. The son of a U.S. Army career officer, his early years were spent like most military brats, growing up in foreign countries, primarily Japan and Germany. Upon graduating from High School in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1969, he briefly attended Florida State University. Disillusioned with 'academia intellectual treason,' he volunteered for the U.S. Army, completing the rigorous requirements of Special Forces training to become a paratrooper and member of the elite Green Berets in 1971.
Boleyn, who began playing guitar at age 13, was the founding member of the first folk group to ever perform a folk mass for the Catholic Church in Europe in 1968 at the age of 17, eventually leading to an official sanction from Rome 7 years later, in 1975. Boleyn is best known for his surrealistic music/noir approach to song-crafting, combining lyrical depth with eclectic composition in stark regard. His collaborations with David Bowie and Lou Reed guitarist, and 6 time Emmy nominated digital film composer, Chuck Hammer, has been a 30 year work in progress, producing an impressive body of work.
In 1994 he founded the Indie record label, Alien Ranch Records, Inc. with his then partner, and writing contributor, Iana Kiri Devai and recorded his most noteworthy album, NO GRAVITY. In 2002 he formed Mindzai Media Group, and in 2005 founded Abernathy & Smyth Publishing House. In 2006, Boleyn extended his love of writing into literary works. Author of the novel "Far Way to Even" published in 2006, and "The Last Creator" , an international suspense thriller due for publication December, 2010, he has also penned a feature length screenplay "Fifth Bridge to the Sun", based upon the book.

Freeway Lane... golfing god or music god?
By Tom Bailey
J.R. Boleyn's novel, "Far Way to Even" (an obvious music pun on Stairway to Heaven) is a funny and insightful mystical tale questioning the origins of humanity and the folly of modern man, reminiscent to me of novels akin to Douglas Adams and Tom Robbins. Blatantly jumping literary genres between fiction and nonfiction, Boleyn seemed to be sticking it to every conceived notion of 'how to be a rock god in 3 lifetimes or less.' If it weren't for the fact that his cohort in the book, Chuck Hammer, really did play guitar for Lou Reed and David Bowie, and Shawn Phillips is a real person, I would have found the premise hard to believe. But I did, thanks to the author not taking himself, or rock gods and golfing gods, too seriously. The bit with Jack Lemmon and Bob Hope has me absolutely crawling across the floor. As a lover of the game of golf, I won't spoil the ending for you here because this book deserves a thorough full read. I will say it made me think very hard about 'what is reality' and Mr. Boleyn's careful penetration into higher realms of being is a superb expose on the modern revelations of quantum physics without all the hocuc pocus drivel from accredited scientists. For my own part, I can't wait til the day women do compete in the Master's. After reading this book, Vijay will be prying his foot from his mouth for a long time to come. It's a great read, and for anyone who read the fictional and hard to swallow "Celestine Prophecy", "Far Way to Even" is the real thing. Rock on!

Review of Far Way to Even
By China Bend Vineyards
Being neither a golfer or musician, upon recommendation of a friend I purchased Mr. Boleyn's new book. I am however, the proprietor of a winery, and found many points of contact of which I quickly related growth and life of the vineyard to many of the perceptive analogies in this book, especially the chapters concerning quantum theory and manifestation. I recommend this book to any individual seeking self-transformation and reading a good story about acheiving your life goa;s.

James Joyce meets Jean Paul Sarte
By Arlo Hennings
An existential roller coaster ride of profound fun. Imagine James Joyce and Jean Paul Sarte in a game of golf and Tom Robbins is the caddy. Every page is a hole in one. "Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does " - Jean Paul Sarte
